The Western Institute of Natural Healing
The mission of WINH is threefold:
- To provide professional training and education in the theory and practice of Quantum Energetics and other forms of Natural Healing.
- To provide on-going educational support for Quantum Energetics and other Natural Healing Practitioners through continuing education seminars and other educational activities.
- To collect information and data related to the practice of Quantum Energetics and other forms of Natural Healing, and make such information available to the public through seminars, newsletters, the Internet, and any other suitable publication or outlet.
ABOUT THE WESTERN INSTITUTE
History
The Western Institute of Natural Healing (WINH) was founded in January of 1991 as The Western Institute of New Physiology. It was the second institute to begin teaching the healing work then known as New Physiology. Seminar classes began in September of that year with nine students. Eight of those students completed their formal studies in May of 1993 as the first graduating class of WINP. The name of the energy work was changed in 1992 to Quantum Energetic Technique, in part as a means of identifying the work with its roots in quantum physics. And, in January of 2000, the name of the school was changed to the Western Institute of Natural Healing in order to more accurately capture the spirit and breadth of teaching being conducted.
Membership
The Western Institute is a founding member of the International New Physiology Association (INPA). The INPA serves as an accrediting organization that approves and oversees the curriculum and teachers of each institute that teaches Quantum Energetics and any other form of New Physiology. No individual or institute may teach QE without express written permission of the INPA. The INPA also serves as a membership organization for graduates and students of each of the institutes.
Seminar Training
Training at the Western Institute consists of twelve seminars conducted over the course of two years. The seminars are grouped together to make four semesters of three seminars each. Students are asked to make a commitment to one semester at a time. During each semester, the seminars are normally spaced five or six weeks apart, with self-paced reading and study assignments, papers and tests required for each seminar. Deadlines are established for the submittal of each individually assigned research paper.
Each seminar begins on Thursday evening and ends mid-afternoon on Saturday, giving approximately 16 hours of class time per weekend. Much of each seminar is devoted to hands-on practice and observation. Due to limited class time, each student is expected to set aside an appropriate amount of time for study and practice between seminars.
Facilities
The seminar style of teaching lends itself quite well to the use of conference rooms in hotels. Each class is conducted in a classroom style with enough extra room to set up two or three massage tables. Since a majority of our students are from out of town, conference facilities are chosen with the financial needs of the student in mind. If there is a sufficient demand for classes in another region of the United States, additional sites and dates may be considered and scheduled. Seminar locations outside of the Colorado area would be selected based of many factors, only one of which would be proximity to the students. Once a year, we try to schedule one of the seminars in a retreat setting, in order to strengthen bonds between classes and with the instructors.
About Our Students
The student population at the Western Institute is remarkably diverse.
Student ages so far have ranged from the low twenties to the low sixties. Average age at enrollment is in the early forties. Students have enrolled from over ten different states, with over fifty percent of our graduates living outside of Colorado. Most of them are holding full-time jobs while attending WINH. Their professional backgrounds are diverse and include educators, massage therapists, flight attendants, psycho-therapists, nurses, a pharmacist, an outfitter, pilots, programmers, writers, practitioners of other complementary healing methods, etc. All share a desire to facilitate in healing and to further the knowledge and practice of Quantum Energetics and other forms of Natural Healing.
